Weekly goals #1

Last week I had set myself some pretty easy goals, just to get into the swing of goal setting, the first was to go to the gym 3 times, usually this is easy for me, but due to the Christmas holidays, the gym closed earlier on some days… However I managed to make it four times last week! The gym thankfully when back to its normal hours so I could make it after work twice this week.

I can forsee in the future that getting to the gym is going to be an issue, now that I work 30+ hours a week, and I am not an early riser. For the most part, I have chosen to do two of my workouts on Monday and Tuesday, as they are my days off, and then the third one I will do any other day, after work. I really *want* to start getting up early for the gym, but I really hate pushing time limits, and I much prefer to take my time at the gym rather than rush my workout.

2017

I kinda missed the whole end of 2016 post thing, not that I usually do one, or did anything majorly significant last year that I hadn’t already blogged about. So I thought I’d skip it and move right on to 2017. 🙂

I have no hard set goals in 2017, new years resolutions are not really my thing. I suck at goal setting! However I do have some general goals that I would like to try and achieve. Firstly, I would like to blog more – mainly to just have a journal of my life, how I’m feeling, progress on power lifting, and just general thoughts. I have no “schedule” for that, however I do have an idea that is going to help me with another goal, which is…. drum roll! (Not that it’s exciting!)

Holiday to Rarotonga, Cook Islands

I’ve just come home from a wonderful holiday in Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Rarotonga is the main island for the Cook Islands, with the capital being Avarua. I had a really amazing time, but unfortunately as I write this, I’m suffering a terrible cold I tend to get after I travel :(. The main activities we did was Snorkeling,.

We flew out of Christchurch around midday, unfortuntaly flights going to Raro only leave from Auckland Int. airport, so we had a 7~ hour stopover in AKL. When we finally arrived in Raro, it was 1am Tuesday morning (the 22nd). The place we stayed – Tropical Sands, organized transport to and from the airport for us, so we were all set!

I hate making post titles

I’m so uncreative. So many people probably wonder why I even have a blog. The reason is because I like to talk, even if it’s essentially just to myself!

I’m just writing a little update on life, which will include my weight loss journey and uni so far. 🙂

My weight loss journey is actually going really well. In June I attempted to do Junk Free June, but my own version of it – which was just to try and cut out as much sugar as I could. Not entirely – I have a slight sugar addiction and didn’t want to end up cranky and yelling at everyone. But I only had maybe one teaspoon of sugar on my oats, on one day, or I had a normal coffee from the cafe instead of a flavored one (we don’t have sugar free syrups in NZ like many American Starbucks do). I think I did well. I would say I slipped up a couple of times – having a slice of cake or an energy drink because I just wanted to feel happy on that day. Nothing negative happened, just letting myself down a little on those days.

Another go at weight loss

As I write this, I’m consuming some pre-workout. It’s not really needed, but I thought I’d give it a shot to see what it does.

Here I am, writing another weight-loss post. But this time I’ve been at it for around 50 days (well, tracking *most* of my food on MFP for 50 days ish).

I have lost weight, although I do not know how much as I didn’t jump on the scales when I began. However, the last time I was at the doctor she was I was over 120kg. Which is what I weighed the last time I weighed myself.
